The following schedule has been loaded into the global distribution system used by travel agents:
DZ6223 SZX0130 – 0840DRW 738 37
DZ6224 DRW1725 – 2135SZX 738 37
This schedule means that Donghai's 737-800 aircraft will sit on the tarmac at Darwin for 8 hours and 45 minutes through the day.
Presumably this is to allow the Donghai pilots and flight attendants sufficient rest time before operating the return journey to Shenzhen. A more frequent service would allow for a better utilization of aircraft by rotating crews through Darwin.
This time would also provide ample time to operate a return Darwin-Yulara service, as suggested by the graphic on Donghai's website but cabotage issues would limit the viability of this operation.
Donghai flights are also now for sale on the Chinese website Ctrip.
The first return Darwin-Shenzhen-Darwin flight opportunity is a departure on Wednesday 30 May returning Sunday 3 June. The return fare is listed by Ctrip at $449 plus $16 for Flight Accident Injury Insurance.
This considerably cheaper and far quicker than flights offered on Ctrip as shown below.
Donghai are also expected to offer introductory specials once direct marketing commences.
