FLIGHTS between Darwin and Shenzhen, China, will begin on Wednesday, May 30, with Donghai Airlines offering its first flights for as little as $200 return, according to the airline’s website.
The cheap flights are for Wednesday, May 30, with a return date of Sunday, June 3.
The new flights between Darwin and Shenzhen are being advertised for Wednesdays and Sundays.
Standard costs for a return date hover around 1730 yuan or $A361.49. The flight – a manageable five hours and 40 minutes – leaves Darwin at 5.45 pm and gets into Shenzhen at 9.35 pm. The return flight is at 1.30 am and gets in at 8.40 am. Shenzhen borders Hong Kong and is known for its shopping and food scene.
The booming city, home to more than 12 million people, has a number of beaches to relax at as well as a burgeoning art scene, and is a short day trip away from Hong Kong.
The NT News last month confirmed Donghai Airlines would be launching the flights.
