Jetstar has revised its earlier statement that cast a doubt over its flights to Bali, following the decision by AirAsia to suspend the route. Jetstar have now clarified that they are actually looking to increase flights to fill the void. This makes perfect sense to meet the needs of the market and to block the path of another airline, including a further resumption by AirAsia at some stage, from the Darwin-Denpasar route. |

JETSTAR has confirmed it is looking at adding additional flights on its Darwin-Bali route, rather than cancelling the route altogether.
After confusion over a vaguely worded statement on Thursday, an airline spokesman has confirmed how important Darwin is to its network.
“Bali remains an important market for us from Darwin,” he said.
“Our flights from Darwin to Bali will continue to operate as normal well into the future.
“We’ll take a look at demand early next year and review whether there is an opportunity for us to increase flights on the route.”
It is understood Jetstar may get involved in talks with Denpasar and Darwin airports as more vacancies opened up.
The good news comes after AirAsia confirmed to ntnews.com.au earlier this week that it would be cancelling all flights between Bali and Darwin from January 28.
A Jetstar spokesman said on Thursday that the airline was “looking at (its) options”.
Jetstar added three extra Bali services per week over December and January.
The airline carried 35,000 people between Darwin and Bali in the 2016-17 financial year.
